“One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’t pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself.” - Lucille Ball”

[lunch break at the internship.]
My junior year of college is forever gone. Only one more year and I’ll be done with my bachelors. Time sure has flown by. It’s hard to believe that I started this blog my very first semester of college. I don’t know how much good it’s been because I think it’s been more beneficial for me. Regardless.
Now it’s summer. I’m interning at a small ad agency, taking summer classes and still serving at Ryan’s. Other than this, I don’t really have any plans for the summer. I do plan on going home to PA towards the end of summer. That’ll be nice.
And I kicked off my summer by attending my cousin’s wedding in Alabama. I saw family I haven’t seen in years. The most ridiculous leave of absence from my life being my grandfather. It’d been nearly 18 years since I last saw him.
So not really any plans. Just playing it by ear. It’s summer and that means everything is planned last minute like.
Even if you have a job, I hope you take the time to enjoy summer. It’s a beautiful friend.

This hasn’t exactly been my best semester for a few reasons. With that being said, it’s hard to write encouraging posts for a blog that’s about being positive when I myself am struggling to be positive.

But I’ve gotta tell ya. I think I’m growing a lot through it. I’ve seriously been blessed with the best of friends. Everything certainly happens for a reason. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself. (I think it’s still true, though.)

And just the other morning, I woke up with a suddenly new outlook on life. I felt strong. I felt hope and joy. Even though I’ve always known this, it finally rang true deep within me… that God will always provide. He’s always there.

I know tomorrow I may have a bad day. And in fact the remaining weeks could possibly be a roller coaster of emotions and events but that’s okay. I will be hopeful. I will choose to have a positive outlook.

So here’s me saying I’m going to try again with this blog. (which makes like the 7th time by now.. whoops.) Here’s me saying that I’m giving my doubts to someone much greater than I. Here’s me saying that you also can find hope. And strength. And love. And acceptance. Don’t handle life on your own.

Many thanks to these ladies (And ohhh so many more). They really have been such blessings to me.

chos:

Deep in the belly of New York’s subway system, a beautiful untouched station resides that has been forgotten for years with only a limited few knowing of its existence. Stunning decoration with tall tiled arches, brass fixtures and skylights run across the entire curve of the station, almost a miniature imitation of Grand Central Station… But it sounds like something straight out of Harry Potter, right?
It was opened in 1904, with the hope of making it the crowning glory of the New York subway system in elegant architecture and a place for commemorative plaques to honour the work that had resulted in such a successful underground mass transit system. It was to be the original southern terminus of the first ‘Manhattan Main Line’; however the station was closed and boarded up in 1945. The gem of the underground began gathering dust, forgotten by the general public, as passengers were forced off at the Brooklyn Bridge Stop before the train continued on to the terminus to make its turnaround.
